What you will see on the Surin Islands

Surin is a remote marine national park with clear water, healthy reefs and relatively few visitors. The day revolves around the underwater world: three snorkeling sessions in different bays, with a good chance of spotting clownfish and other reef fish. Between swims there is a relaxed lunch with a sea view at Mai Ngam beach, where the national park campsite is located.

Choosing your Surin option

Surin Islands + Moken Village starts with snorkeling in Chong Kad Channel, then takes you ashore to the village of the Moken, the sea nomads, to see how they live. After lunch at Mai Ngam you snorkel again at Bon or Mae Yai Bay and finish at Pineapple or Turtle Bay.

Surin Islands + Hidden Beach skips the village. Instead you snorkel Mai Ngam Channel first and then walk the long sandbar off Mai Ngam Beach that is revealed at low tide, with the afternoon snorkeling stops at Suthep Bay North and Suthep Bay South.

Surin Islands by Catamaran follows the Moken village route but on a catamaran instead of a speedboat. All three options include breakfast at the pier, lunch, dinner after the return, fins, towels, mask and snorkel, park fees and insurance.

Practical tips

Pickup from Khao Lak hotels is early in the morning and you are back by early evening. Pregnant women are strictly not allowed on speedboats; if you are expecting, tell us when booking. The park is seasonal, open roughly from mid-October to mid-May, and the itinerary can change because of weather. Bring sunscreen that is kind to reefs and a dry bag for your phone. Our GoGo Phuket manager will help you choose the right option in chat or WhatsApp.
