James Bond Island Tour from Khao Lak with Yao Yai

Phang Nga Bay highlights

After a morning pickup from your Khao Lak hotel and a tea and coffee break at the pier, the speedboat heads into Phang Nga Bay. The first stop is Koh Panak, a well-known geological landmark, where you visit either the Diamond Cave or the Ice Cream Cave. Next you board a canoe near Koh Talu or Koh Hong and glide into the famous secret lagoons.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant in Koh Panyee, the oldest sea gypsy settlement. Afterwards there is free time to wander the village, see how people live, pick up souvenirs and find that famous football pitch. Then comes James Bond Island (Khao Phing Kan) with its view of Ta Pu rock — time to walk around and take the classic photo.

Beach time on Koh Yao Yai

The second half of the day slows down. At Laem Haad sandbar on Koh Yao Yai, where the Jason Statham film "The Mechanic" was shot, you can walk along the spit, swim and try the SUP board and transparent kayak, both included. The last stop is Palm Beach Club on Yao Yai: relax on the sand or try its water park and other activities such as ATVs and jet skis. The boat leaves for the pier at about 17:30.

Guides, meals and what's included

An English-speaking guide runs the trip every day, and a Russian-speaking guide joins on Mondays and Fridays — choose those days if you prefer Russian. Hotel transfers from anywhere in Khao Lak, lunch, unlimited water and soft drinks, national park fees, insurance, canoeing, SUP and the clear kayak are all included, so you only need money for souvenirs, tips or photos.

Tips before you go

Wear swimwear under your clothes and pack a towel, sunscreen and a waterproof phone case for the canoe. It is a long day on a speedboat, and speedboat trips are strictly not allowed during pregnancy — please tell our manager when booking if you're expecting, or you may be refused at the pier. Times and the order of stops are a guide and may be adjusted by the captain and guide.
