What the day includes

The first stop is the monkey cave, where you can feed the monkeys if you like, followed by Wat Suwan Khuha, a temple built into a cave with a reclining Buddha, stalactites and a colony of bats. After a short visit to a mini zoo the group heads to the elephant camp for an elephant ride, bathing with an elephant and a baby elephant show.

Next comes a bamboo raft float down a jungle river, a quiet way to take in the wild scenery. On the way you pass fruit and rubber plantations, then sit down to lunch at a restaurant serving traditional Thai food. The last stop is a small turtle farm before the drive back.

How the meeting point works

The tour itself starts and ends at Khok Kloi Bus Station, where the Russian-speaking guide meets the group in the morning. You can get there on your own, or we can arrange a transfer from any hotel in Khao Lak or Natai Beach for an extra fee. The transfer is charged once per booking rather than per person, which makes it good value for families and small groups travelling together.

Who this tour suits

This is one of the gentlest programs in the area: there is no long boat ride and no strenuous activity, so it is a comfortable choice for families with kids and for anyone who prefers a slower pace. The tour is marked as suitable during pregnancy, but riding an elephant is not recommended for expectant mothers, so skip that part and enjoy the rest of the day.

Practical tips

Bring small change for the reclining Buddha temple entrance, which is paid on the spot, and a change of clothes if you plan to get wet with the elephants. Timings and the order of stops are approximate and can be adjusted by the guide. You can book the tour through the GoGo Phuket manager in chat or WhatsApp.
