How the motorbike tour works
This is a private tour: each guest rides as a passenger with their own driver-guide, and the price is per bike, one person per guide. Your guide picks you up at your hotel and drops you back at the end of the day, always carries a spare helmet for you and is happy to take photos of you on your own phone or camera along the way. The guides have lived in Phuket for more than three years and share plenty of local tips about everyday Thai life. Meals and personal expenses are not included.
Choosing a route
The South route is the classic scenic loop: the viewpoint over Kata Noi, Kata and Karon beaches, the Windmill viewpoint, kayaking at Ya Nui or a swim at Nai Harn, a quiet temple dedicated to King Naresuan with a view of Promthep Cape, the cape itself, a viewpoint next to the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong. If you wish, elephants or tigers can be added.
The North route is about beaches and photo spots: a lookout over Laem Sing, Surin or Bang Tao, a drive through the upscale Laguna area, a swim at a northern beach, a hidden temple with a lake where you can feed fish, the wooden staircase at Nai Thon, plane-spotting at Mai Khao and the lotus-filled Ma Di Bo café.
The Phuket Town route focuses on culture: a walk through the Old Town lanes, the hotel where The Beach was filmed and a Chinese temple, the 360-degree Khao Khad viewpoint, Monkey Hill, the Burmese temple Wat Koh Sirey with its large reclining Buddha, Wat Khao Rang with a huge seated Buddha and the Khao Rang lookout over town.
Tips
Bring sunscreen and some cash for drinks and entrance fees, and tell your guide in advance if you would like extra stops or a different pace. Note that the Big Buddha itself is currently closed, so the south route stops at a viewpoint beside it. Ask the GoGo Phuket manager in chat or WhatsApp to arrange your route and start time.
