How the day unfolds
The trip starts before dawn with a transfer to Phuket airport and an early flight to Bangkok. Your guide meets the group at the arrival airport, and the tour begins with a first look at the city often called the gateway to Southeast Asia: roaring traffic, huge elevated walkways, palaces and temples.
Ayutthaya and Baiyoke Sky
The first big stop is the Ayutthaya Historical Park. For more than four centuries this was the capital of the Kingdom of Siam, and today its temple ruins and majestic Buddha statues still carry the mood of that era. Lunch is a buffet at the restaurant on the 76th floor of the Baiyoke Sky skyscraper, with panoramic views across the whole city.
The river and Wat Pho
In the afternoon you board a boat on the Chao Phraya River, which shows Bangkok from its most characteristic angle, and feed the sacred fish near Wat Arun – a gesture believed to bring good luck. The sightseeing ends at Wat Pho, the oldest and largest temple in Bangkok, home to the 46-meter Reclining Buddha, rich gold decoration and stories linked to the coronation of Rama I. If time allows, there is a short break at a shopping mall before the evening flight back to Phuket and the transfer to your hotel.
Who it suits and what to know
The tour is ideal if you want to see Bangkok and Ayutthaya without leaving your Phuket hotel for more than a day. Flights, lunch, the guided tour, accident insurance and group transfers in both cities are included; souvenirs, tips and other personal expenses are not. Carry a passport valid for more than six months from the travel date. The program and flight times can change because of the weather, airline schedules or other circumstances.
Tips
Wear light clothes and comfortable shoes for walking around ruins and temples, bring a hat and water, and expect a very early start and a late return. Children under 3 travel on a reduced ticket.
