Why stay overnight on Surin

Surin sits roughly 60 km from the nearest point of the mainland, surrounded by jungle-covered cliffs, remarkably colored water and very few tourists. It is a trip for people who love active holidays and the underwater world: the reefs here are among the best in the country, and the program includes three dedicated snorkeling sessions over two days.

How the two days flow

On day one you are picked up from your hotel early, have a light breakfast at the pier and cross to the islands. The first stop is snorkeling in Chong Kad Channel followed by a visit to the Moken village, where you can see how the sea gypsies live. After a Thai-style lunch you check in to your accommodation, walk to Kra Ting Bay and spend free time on Mai Ngam Beach before dinner.

The second morning starts with breakfast and check-out, then snorkeling in Mai Ngam Bay. After another Thai lunch comes the last swim at Bon or Mae Yai Bay, and in the afternoon the boat heads back. A light dinner is served at the pier before the transfer to your hotel.

Tents, bungalows and the 3-day option

Accommodation in tents by the sea is included in the price. If you prefer a bungalow, you can upgrade to one for up to two or up to four people for a supplement. The three-day version gives you more time on the islands; ask our manager for the details of the extra day before booking.

What to know before you go

The trip runs with an English-speaking guide, and meals, drinks, park fees, insurance and masks with snorkels are included. Pregnant travelers cannot ride speedboats and must mention a pregnancy at booking, otherwise they may be refused at the pier. Surin is a seasonal park, open roughly from mid-October to mid-May, and timings can change with the weather. Pack light clothing, sunscreen and a dry bag. Book through the GoGo Phuket manager in chat or WhatsApp.
