What happens on a Phuket fishing trip
Fishing from a boat off Phuket mixes a few techniques. Trolling means dragging lures behind the moving boat to tempt predatory fish, while spinning and bottom fishing are done from a stationary boat over promising spots. Between sessions there is time to swim and dive into the sea, and lunch is prepared right on board from the day's catch.
Standard or early Comfort: how to choose
The standard Sea Fishing trip picks you up around eight in the morning and sails from Chalong pier. The boat trolls on the way out, stops for a lunch made from the catch and a swim, then switches to spinning and bottom fishing before trolling again on the way back. The guide speaks English and the group can include both English- and Russian-speaking guests. Fresh fruit, drinks, life jackets and accident insurance are included.
The Sea Fishing Early Comfort departure is built for keen anglers. Pickup is before dawn, you have breakfast at the pier and head to Racha Yai. On the program: trolling and deep-sea fishing, checking crab traps, a spearfishing master class, a stop for snorkeling and bottom fishing, then lunch from the catch and trolling on the return. The guide is a Russian-speaking experienced fisherman, and mask, snorkel, fins, towels, unlimited drinks, park fees and rain ponchos are included. You are back at the pier by mid-afternoon.
Tips for the day
Transfers from remote areas of the island cost extra on both options, so check your hotel location with us. Pregnant travelers must mention it when booking and may be turned away at the pier otherwise; speedboat rides are not allowed during pregnancy. Bring a hat, sunscreen and motion sickness tablets if you are prone to seasickness. The order of activities is flexible and depends on the captain and the fish. Which fishing option should I choose?+
The standard trip is a relaxed day with an English-speaking guide from Chalong pier. The Early Comfort option suits keen anglers: it goes to Racha Yai with a Russian-speaking fisherman guide and adds crab traps, spearfishing and snorkeling gear.
What do the Angler and Non-angler tickets mean?+
Tickets come in two types: Angler, listed as the adult ticket, and Non-angler, listed as the child ticket for guests who come along without fishing. Our manager will confirm which ticket fits each person in your group.
What time does the trip start?+
The standard trip picks you up around 08:00 and returns by 16:30–17:00. Early Comfort picks up around 05:15 and returns to the pier at about 15:00.
Is lunch included?+
Yes, lunch is served on board in both options and is cooked from the fish you catch. Early Comfort also includes breakfast.
Is the transfer included from anywhere in Phuket?+
Hotel transfer is included, but pickup from remote areas of the island costs extra on both options.
