Sights along the way

The minivan first climbs to Karon Viewpoint for the view over Kata Noi, Kata and Karon, then heads to the Windmill Viewpoint and Promthep Cape at the southern tip of the island. There is a stop at the Chao Leh sea gypsy market and an optional chance to feed and photograph a baby elephant.

After that you visit Wat Chalong and the hill of the Big Buddha, where a monk, if present, can tie on a sai sin bracelet. The Big Buddha has no confirmed reopening date, so the stop focuses on the viewpoint next to it.

Evening in Phuket Town

Late in the afternoon the group reaches Phuket Old Town for a short walk on your own through its historic streets, then drives up Rang Hill, a lookout with wild monkeys that you can feed if they show up. The finale is free time at Lard Yai, the Sunday walking street market with street food, music and a genuinely local vibe. If you want to stay longer, you can leave the group at the market and take a taxi back to your hotel at your own cost.

Which city tour to choose

Pick this program if you are in Phuket on a Sunday and prefer a relaxed start with an evening finish. If you would rather go in the morning and be back by early afternoon, the standard South + Phuket Town tour covers the same sights without the market.

Good to know

The tour has no factory or shopping stops. The Russian-speaking guide shares information in the minivan but does not walk with guests at the locations. Women need to cover knees and shoulders in temples. Hotels in Kalim and further north pay a transfer surcharge. Bring cash for market snacks and a light scarf for the temples.

Frequently asked questions

When does this tour run?+

It is built around the Lard Yai Sunday walking street market, so the program ends at the market on Sunday evening. Pickup is around 11:00–11:30.

Can I stay at the market instead of returning with the group?+

Yes. You can remain at Lard Yai as long as you like and make your own way back; the taxi to your hotel is paid by you.

What time do we get back to the hotel?+

Guests who return with the group are back at their hotels at around 19:00–19:30.

How is it different from the regular Phuket city tour?+

The sights are the same – viewpoints, Promthep Cape, Wat Chalong, Big Buddha hill, Old Town and Rang Hill – but this program starts later and adds free time at the Sunday market.

Does the guide accompany us at the stops?+

The Russian-speaking guide gives commentary in the minivan between locations but does not walk with the group, so you explore the stops and the market on your own.
